Ditzcourse connects two longterm collaborations I'm involved in: the online radio platform Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee (which I co-founded in 2015) and my ongoing dialogue with painter, body artist, writer and perfume collector Sands Murray-Wassink – we met in 2016 and in 2020-21 I worked with Megan Hoetger on developing an archive of his life/art practice called Gift Science Archive.
Ditzcourse is a series of conversations recorded at the home of Sands and his partner Robin and cat Duman in Amsterdam. Ditzcourse as in: ditzy, as in silly, but still making discourse. I wanted to give space to a 'thinking out loud' and 'meaning making in relation'. As informal as possible. How to edit? For each episode of Ditzcourse a guest was invited, and a keyword suggested. Everyone brought a power object or reference to the table.
There's a shorter introduction with Sands and myself, followed by three episodes of one hour each: 'Spirituality' with Saras, 'Pleasure' with Megan Hoetger, and 'Glamour' with Martín la Roche.
Each episode comes with a custom horse drawing by Sands, and a full transcript with reference list. The series has been co-broadcasted by Montez Press Radio. You can listen back to the complete series at the archive of Ja Ja Ja Nee Nee Nee or press download in the corner below right.

"I don't like the term visual art. I often consider that my main... And I say this a lot, that my main art materials are thoughts, feelings, emotions, behaviors, and relationships, and also sharing information as if it was a brushstroke. And I'd say that relationships are number one in that. But I feel like visual art, like everything visual for me, is an energy trace. So it has to do with energy and sharing energy and meaning. But art comes with so much baggage. It frustrates me that there's so much snobbism still."
